Clare Trohear MSc MBAcC

Clare trained for 4 years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York qualifying in 2003.

Clare trained as a Registered General Nurse, qualifying in 1992 and has worked in various fields including General Surgery, Ear Nose & Throat and Maxillo-Facial within the NHS.

Clare is a fully registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). The BAcC maintains common standards of ethics, discipline and practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the public at all times.

Since qualifying for practice, Clare has undertaken research in the field of acupuncture and has been awarded the qualification of an MSc in Acupuncture by the University of Wales.

She has also undergone regular postgraduate training in various modalities including the treatment of musculo-skeletal conditions with Alex Brazkiewicz. Over the past few years, Clare has undergone extensive training into Channel Theory which is extremely useful in the treatment of pain.

Clare was recently selected by the British Acupuncture Council to go on a 2 week training course to Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Harbin, China. Clare has a special interest in treating pain with acupuncture, particularly arthritis in the elderly. She has also has an interest in treating long covid and post viral fatigue.

Tim Spaul PGDip MBAcC

Tim is also a full member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC), graduating from the prestigious Northern College of Acupuncture in 2005.

The Northern College of Acupuncture is one of the foremost educational and research institutions for Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in the UK.

He runs his own private clinic, Tim Spauls Acupuncture in Chester, and has previously worked as part of an acupuncture service supporting couples undergoing IVF in the Hewitt Centre for Fertility at the Liverpool Women's Hospital.

Since qualifying for practice Tim has worked alongside Pam Bescoby at the Hale Acupuncture Clinic.

He has also undergone postgraduate training on Scalp Acupuncture which is particularly effective for treating the symptoms of Parkinsons and MS, Electroacupuncture which is a useful adjunct for treating pain and Facial Rejuvination Acupuncture also known as 'the acupuncture face lift'. This is a safe and non-surgical way of treating wrinkles by increasing the flow of qi and blood to the face.

Recently Tim has undergone training with Phil McQueen in Musculoskeletal bodywork techniques. This is particularly effective for treating Neck, Shoulder and Lower back pain and also sciatica. It is also very effective for treating sports injuries or recurrent complaints.
